Our veterinary team uses a holistic approach to support your pet’s wellbeing and recovery. Pain management includes using a variety of therapeutic treatments, like laser therapy, to help your pet along their healing journey. Laser therapy is a non-invasive and safe way to treat your pet’s health condition.
Is laser therapy safe?
Dr. Veronica Devall has expertise in holistic approaches to pain management. Depending on your pet’s health, a rehabilitation-based treatment like low-level laser therapy can be used to treat your pet. Laser therapy uses low-level light energy in targeted areas of the body to generate healing and decrease inflammation in the cells. Our team will assess your pet to determine if laser therapy is the right therapeutic treatment for them. It can be helpful when treating orthopedic trauma, muscle injury and/or strains, neurological injuries and degenerative joint conditions. If you’re interested in learning more about the procedure, please contact us at 403-217-0460.
How can laser therapy help my pet?
Depending on your pet’s condition, we’ll determine the right amount of treatments that will help decrease their pain. This could mean a few sessions each day over a few weeks, with the frequency decreasing as your pet improves. Typically during treatments, your pet lies on a padded blanket or bed before it’s administered. Laser therapy helps with:
- Healing surgery or traumatic wounds
- Reducing inflammation
- Releasing pain at trigger points
- Speeding up the healing process
- Reducing scar tissue
- Increasing immune system responsiveness
